Training Philosophy
Core principles that guide our approach
Powerlifting is the pursuit of maximal strength in three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. Training is highly specific and periodized, building from hypertrophy through strength to peaking phases. Success requires patience, progressive overload, and respect for recovery. The competition lifts are skill movements that must be practiced frequently with excellent technique before heavy loading. Key principles: - Specificity: Competition lifts are practiced frequently - Progressive overload: Gradual increases in weight over time - Periodization: Planned variation between volume, intensity, and peaking - Recovery: Quality over quantity - CNS fatigue is real - Technical mastery: Perfect practice prevents injury
